The Gowacomeres Waltz.
£10.00 – £15.00
An old Scottish bandmaster used to refer to the trombone section as Gwackomeres. After years of this, I asked him why he did it. So in his Scottish accent, and miming a trombone slide going in and out, he said ‘Go awa, come ‘ere, go awa, come ‘ere’. This is my guess at a correct spelling! The piece is very much an extrovert use of the slide, the feature which fascinated him so much. If you want to just do the silly bits, miss out the section between C and E, which is about a different slide technique than glissandos, or just play to C. Have fun!
